VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS
Team Captain
This position requires previous volunteer experience
at the
Exelon Invitational. There will be two captains for the Marshals & the
Ball Spotters. There will be one captain for every other group of positions.
Captains will meet with their group of volunteers one hour before
their positions take affect on the day of the event. They will
be responsible for assigning breaks and taking care of emergencies. Every
captain will have a radio and some will have golf carts. Captains will
be required
to be fully trained on their responsibilities prior
to the event by attending a pre-event meeting and be on-site
at 8am the day of the event.
Ball Spotters
This position is important to the continuity of play.
These volunteers will be responsible for watching the path
of every shot and determining where it lands. If the ball travels
into the gallery or the rough volunteers will be responsible
for finding it and keeping spectators away from it. You
will be inside the ropes!
Traffic Detail
The free flow of traffic into the event will be very
important, as it will be the first impression spectators receive
of the Exelon Invitational. A professional service will be hired
to run this operation; these volunteers will assist them in their
duties.
Ticket Taker/Will Call Table
These volunteers will ensure everyone that enters the
Exelon Invitational has a valid ticket and gets a wristband.
They will also be required to provide directions to spectators.
Flier Distribution
These volunteers will distribute fliers, programs and
provide information and directions to spectators at entrances.
Hospitality Greeter
At the entrance to the hospitality area greeters will
meet all guests, take hospitality passes & provide guests with a
new wristband that allows for entrance into the hospitality
area. Volunteers will also point guest to the proper
area or tent.
Expo Tent
These volunteers will assist the Expo Area with any
needs vendors may have throughout the day.
Public Relations Tent
These volunteers will work with the press with sign
in and handing out press kits. They may also be required
to speak on or about Exelon, Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, the
event and/or the players. We ask that anyone that signs up for this position
have a public relations background.
Two "drivers" will also be needed to take press to and from
holes on the course.
Floaters
These volunteers will be available for any task that
is asked of them. They may start at traffic and end at break down.
Some marshaling may be required.

ready for the Exelon Invitational in the week preceding the
event (May 26 - June 1). Tasks include hanging banners, changing course flags,

list goes on!
Course Tear down
These volunteers will participate in putting the course "back
together" after the Exelon Invitational. Tasks include
disposing of garbage, handing out surveys, boxing unused
